And Jesus said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you become fishers of men.” Mark 1:17
This is a verse many are familiar with. It is a reminder of a Christian's Calling to make disciples. Part of making disciples is to foster those who are younger in the faith so that they can grow in their understanding, and also make disciples of all nations. Just as Christ made his followers more than just fishers of fish, I want to do more than just be a trainer of horses. I want to be a trainer of men.
One way that I am able to give back, and replant the seeds that have been sown in me, is to teach and mentor the team members of the Victory's Gait Program at Sweet Dreams Farm. By having annual clinics and sessions with the Victory's Gait team, I am able to check up on their horse skills, and share new skills. But more importantly, by deepening their understanding of God's beautiful Creation in the horse, I am able to impart encouragement and exhortations in these young hearts that have a passion for horses, and a desire for God.
Another way that Gentle on the Soul gives back is by financially supporting the Victory's Gait Program at Sweet Dreams Farm. A portion of the proceeds from every lesson and program goes directly to supporting the efforts of the Victory's Gait Program, which is a non-profit 501c3 organization.
